Feel free to ask for advice on your chosen audition pieces or for guidance if you have not yet decided which pieces to play.
My tips:
Choose two contrasting pieces. One could be lively, the other could be lyrical.
Pick pieces with a quirky title or a composer with an unusual name. This makes for an instant discussion point.
Don't pick pieces from the graded exam book. Most of the other candidates will go into the audition clutching the latest exam book. If you want to stand out from the crowd, ditch the exam repertoire and find something that will be memorable.
